Day 36 - Photoshoot orginazing

So today I set myself a challenge, and that was to have everything done and ready for the photo-shoot , which is going to be in two weeks time. 10/11 of May. because things a re going really slow and I want progress not long left until the exhibition. I Need to get at least four models, A makeup artist and a photographer who are whiling to collab. Ive realised that the sublimation printing is going to far too long to get a quote, make, and delivery, and expensive so im just going to D.I.Y. I need to buy transfer paper and some t-shirts in pastels colours transfer different logos and quotes on them, and I can use some for the photo-shoot. As well as print on t-shirt I will need to buy some clothes and style them to match the brands look. the most important thing is I will need to book the studio.

Day 31 T-shirt designs

So today I  did a few sample t-shirt designs for my sublimation T-shirts. I downloaded a template from one Sublimation print company called  advertees. Before I can even enquire with them I need to have my T-shirt designs ready so I can get a quote from them. I was messing about on Photoshop with the designs trying to come up with unique t shirt designs and also quirky feminist quotes eg. I took the Celine logo and changed it to 'Clean it yourself' as a feminist joke. I've not yet come up with the final designs, but I'm goanna have to do it soon if I want my samples to be delivered on time for the photo-shoot .

Day 27 -logo development

Today I presented the work I've done so far, to my fellow peers to get some constructive criticism . because as part of branding you need to market research  and get the customers opinion, so I showed them which logo they preferred  and thought was original and fits in with the brand. The majority of  my peers choose the one that caution pattern, they said it showed some sort of danger and mystery to the brand,. I developed the logos to give it a more youthful fun look by adding flitters
and adjusting some text.

Day 22 -Sublimation printing

So today clothes that I had ordered for the fashion shoot arrived I only ordered two items, because I wasn't too sure if they were going to look like the photo, plus their from china so I was a bit wary. So they came and they where exactly like the photos so I was really happy with that. I wanted to order more than I realised that how are these clothes going to represent my brand if they haven't got my brand name or logo on it. So I did a bit of research and I thought maybe I could use transfer paper and iron my logos on, but then I though that wouldn't look professional.
So then I came acorss this technique called Dye-sublimation printing:  Dye-sublimation printing allows for designs to be printed over the entire garment with incredibly high detail.

here is what sublimation garments look like, very clear, professional and creative.

Day 19 - Starting up my Personal Confirmatry study

So today I finally found a theme for my P.C.S ,so I thought because I'm making my own brand, the theme of brand and identity, will work well with my project. Because I'm actually  setting off my brand from scratch and by choosing this theme, hopefully it will give me more insight on what I need to do to make my brand stand out.

‘Brand identity is the visible elements of a brand (such as colors, design, logotype, name, and symbol) that together identify and distinguish the brand in the consumers' mind’

This is what I'm aiming to do to create a brand that can be distinguished and is original. I will be looking at different type of fashion brands, that are fast fashion brands , luxury brand and e-tail brands and comparing which one is most effective in the 21st Centaury.

day 18 - Brand concept bored

I want my brand to be inspired my 80's and 90's hiphop fashion mixed with the modern urban look. I wanted it to have the pastel pop colours and have some of the symbolic 90's hair styles, which I want all of my models to have, to show the quirkiness and 'I don't care that I look different' attitude.  I want it to be girly but with an edge, and to represent individualism.

Day 16 -Brand name

So today after lots of thought and mind mapping I have picked my  fashion brands name, its going to be called  "Not Aloud "  its meant to be abbreviation for Not allowed: Still keeping restriction in mind, not being able to do something. I picked the word Aloud instead of Allowed because I wanted it to look visually and allowed had to many words, also because the world aloud means being loud for all to hear. So I wanted to create a brand that had no boundaries (restriction) and the clothing made a statement.

logo development : I was inspired the warning /caution/ danger signs, to show that the brand  is out there.

day 10- Plan

So today I planned out what im going to be doing during the two week holidays and after. The first thing I need to do is to create a new mood bored with different stuff that have restriction, and from there hopeful gain insight on the name of my brand , the colour theme and even the logo. Then once I've done that im going to branding and logo designs to find the appropriate logo and name for the brand.

Day 9 - List of Restriction

So today I had I sat down with my tutor and we talked about what the word restriction means or what type of things have restriction. Instead of being  specific, I made list of words and things that may have some type of restriction, and some how I could use them to link with my website, maybe even find a name from it. Doing this made me more open minded and broaden my choices on to the word restriction, and from those words I would make a mood board

Day 8 - Change Of Plan

So I was thinking about overall project and how I'm going to do things and how long it will take, and I thought I'm giving myself too much work to do, and doing things that are not necessary. Like I'm making an garment but in not even going to study fashion design, so I evaluated everything and decided to not design or make anything but focus on the advertising, branding and styling side of things, because that's what ill be doing at University. So the whole theme and mood of my work is going to change through the process. So now im going to focus on :

Creating Fashion a brand
Making a website
Doing a shoot to promote it
Doing Promotional and marketing items
Create a fashion video to promote it
and maybe other things in between but these are a the main things I want to achieve in my project.

Day 6 -Artist research

So today I started looking at Designers who interpreted bondage and armour into high fashion. Some looked like high fashion lingerie that you could wear out whilst others looked like Victorian gowns but with a modern armour twist.

This is Alexander McQueen

Jean Paul Gaultier

So I thought why not combine Bondage and armour like clothing to create a brand  that's more high street and commercial. I was inspired by

day 4 - Armour

I looked at other types of restrictive garments , and I thought armour would be a great one. Armour can be seen as protection gear ,but can also restrict movement from certain parts of the body. Now as we are aging to the 21st Centaury where futuristic fashion is slowly merging and armour can be seen in fashion mainly accessories: jewellery, bags , shoes , hair, makeup etc..

Gold hair band - you can purchase similar ones in high street shops like top shop and H&M

Neck cuffs -inspired by armour they show restriction as well, as if its choking the women -
