Evaluation
In conclusion
my overall experience of has had its ups and its downs, I started off not
having a straight idea of what my final project would be. In the beginning I thought
it would be a good idea to design and make a garment piece and then promote it,
with the theme of restriction. But when it came down to planning it (what I’ll need and what I’ll have to do) I panicked
because it was going to be far too expensive and I was doing something I’ve
never actually done : Making high fashion bondage clothing from scratch. Therefore I decided
that I wasn’t going to carry on with the textiles aspect of the project, because
I wasn’t going to study textiles I was going to study fashion communication and
styling. So had to adapt my ideas to suite fashion communication, but still
keeping to my theme of restriction. I wanted this project to be something I’ll
enjoy and will be fun. I looked at different types of restrictions e.g. Age restriction,
gender restriction, road restrictions. To get a broader idea of the different things
I could use. I looked at gender restrictions and from there I created an online
clothing brand called Not aloud.
Overall I was
pleased with my PCS in terms of success the ideas I come with and how certain
situations turned, like the photo-shoot: being the creative director, stylist
and designer. I was really happy with the outcome. In terms of improvements I could have made
the promotional items to a professional standard, by getting them done professionally
to give them that finished look e.g. business card, look book, t-shirts.
However my PSC didn’t meet the intentions I set in my original statement( as
stated above) because I realised it didn’t match my choice of course at
University Fashion Communication and Styling.
In Conclusion
the overall project was good, and I was happy with the decision and I changes I
made during it, it came together well. Also it has taught me how to be organised
and organise events eg fashion shoots, press party. But one thing I cold of done better was communicate
more with the tutors and getting their feedback on improvement. Apart from that
I used Communication to communicate and collaborate with students, friends and other
people in the creative industry asking them for favours or for their opinion. In
addition to that I have learnt that communication and knowing the right people is
key to success in fashion industry.
